What Is Somatic Healing?✨❤️🔥✨
Somatic healing is a body-centered approach to healing trauma, stress, and emotional pain. The word *"somatic"* means "relating to the body," and these sessions focus on the connection between the mind and body—especially how emotions and past experiences are stored physically.
Somatic healing is a physical, mental, emotional & spiritual experience that buillds body awareness. It is an empowering practice that allows you to connect with your body on a deeper level that focuses on feelings and sensations. It helps to establish a connection with the mind, body & spirit for optimal healing.
"The issues are in the tissues."
The body stores emotions, memories & traumas in the tissues and fascia of the body. Emotions are kinetic energy and somatic healing supports the release of suppresses emotions, unresolved trauma and stress responses through the body. It helps to complete the emotional cycles which supports the elimination of triggers. When emotions are suppressed, that energy gets stored in the body and if they are not addressed they will manifest through physical pain, ailments and diseases. Somatic healing helps you to build a relationship with your body while decoding the language of your nervous system.
Katie likes to infuse somatic healing with reiki. Reiki is another form of energy healing that originated in japan and it compliments the benefits of somatics. Reiki helps to support the flow of energy and aids in the body's natural healing processes while reducing stress.
Think of somatic healing as a nervous system reset by establishing safety in the body. Safety is the #1 priority when it comes to healing. When you create safety in your body you recode your DNA and you expand you capacity to handle uncomfortable emotions without them derailig you. You build emotional resilience in a healthy and more effective way.
Somatic healing helps you reconnect with your body, release stored tension, and feel more grounded and alive. It’s about listening to your body and letting it guide your healing.

🔥What To Expect During A Somatic Healing Session🔥
These sessions can be done in-person or virtually. The processes are very similar. The only thing that in-person services receive are targeted body work from Katie if needed. If you need targeted body work to help you release during a virtual session, Katie will walk you through how to do it yourself.
*With virtual sessions you will receive a recordings of the somatics for you to keep*
❤️🔥Phase 1: Relax
You will be laying on the massage table where the main focus is to get you out of stress response. Katie will guide you through a meditative practice that will help you to get out of your head and drop into your body. When you are able to shift from your sympathetic TO your parasympathetic nervous system, you enter a state where true healing and relief can take place.
❤️🔥Phase 2: Release
Once you are in a deep state of relaxation, Katie will guide you through a "body scan" where you will become aware of the sensations, feelings and emotions going on in your body. Through somatic breathing and visualization techniques, you will release any tension, resistance or stuck emotions in a safe, supportive and effective way.
❤️🔥Phase 3: Realign
Once you have released and cleared out the present emotional and energetic blockages, your mind body connection is activated and open. This makes it easier to access widsom and guidance from you intuition. Katie will guide you through how to access and strengthen your intuition during the session.
